Pastor’s Pen for June 30, 2019
“Teach me to walk in Your way, O Lord, and I will walk in Your truth;
give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.”
Psalm 86:11

An Undivided Heart

What is the source of all the division?
Why are people caught up in indecision?
What lies behind so much of the hate?
Is this merely our human fate?

Of could it be that at the heart of the matter,
Each human heart has been allowed to tatter,
Being torn and worn, broken and bent,
Misdirected and deceived, marked by sins’ dent?

Is there more we were made to find?
Can the heart be remade or realigned?
Is there really a way the heart to unite?
What does it take to end the inner fight?

Look and listen to what the Word does say,
“Teach me to walk in Your way…”
Not in my own selfish game,
But to learn to “fear Your name”!

And God will give to each and every one,
A new heart born in His Son,
An undivided heart, put back together again,
No longer torn apart by the lies of sin!

And one by one, as God does mend,
Our world can experience a whole new trend,
People loving God and one another,
People seeing the value in each sister and brother!

But it starts with you, and it starts with me,
Calling on the Lord, opening our eyes to see,
That His way is the only one,
To repair the heart and glorify the Son!

Open your heart and find His repair,
Do it now, there’s no time to spare!
