Still Standing
"The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:25
Whether it's the carnage of a massive tornado or the devastation of an out of control fire...we've seen recently how quickly ruin can rain down. What once was someone's home can suddenly be lost.
Jesus declared that wreckage is a reality. Yes, "rains, floods and wind" beat against the house of our lives. This is not a fair-weather world we live in. Troubles come, trials test and problems persist.
But life built upon hearing and practicing Jesus' words will withstand the storms. It's wise to do so, otherwise Jesus says you're building on sand. (The definition of foolish) There's nothing more reliable than His words. They are the firm foundation and our solid ground -truly unshakable!
What are you building your life upon? Education, reputation, popular opinion, tradition? Anything other than the Rock Christ Jesus will fail you. My prayer is that you will believe on Him; grow in His Word and see the good things He has for you. (See Jeremiah 29:11)
Storms come, but a life built on Jesus will still stand! He can provide us a resilient faith, a firm foundation and a future beyond our imagination.
