Formed
"This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise."  Isaiah 43:21

It's an amazing thing to watch a potter at work.  The lump of clay spinning on the wheel.  The artists' hands molding and shaping the clay.   The vessel formed before your very eyes. 

God is the Master Artist at work in our lives.   He is forming us into the image of His Son.  Working in the details of our journey, as we follow Jesus. 

He tells us not to focus on "the former things" but on the "new thing" He is doing. (Isaiah 43:18-19)  It's not about who we were, but who are now in Christ. From lost to found; from alienated to redeemed; from bound to free!

In Christ Jesus our identity is established and our purpose clarified.   In Him, our "formerly" is transformed into the "formed".  As Paul reminds us:
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."  II Corinthians 5:17

Staying focused on the new thing allows us to overcome the former things.
