Christmas Certainties
"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel..." Micah 5:2
The birthplace of the Messiah was announced long before the time of Jesus birth. It is a Christmas certainty that this obscure village was to be the location where He would be born.
Due to governmental requirements, Mary and Joseph traveled from their home in Nazareth to the "city of David" where they found many fellow travelers. Crowded conditions and a lack of accommodations, meant Jesus would be born in the humblest of places. "And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." (Luke 2:7)
Christmas reminds us that it's not about our location or limitations, it's about His arrival! We can be certain that where Jesus is welcomed in, His glory and presence will fill even the most remote and unlikely. May our hearts be open to receive Him, believe Him, reveal Him and proclaim Him!
