Eyes Wide Open
"Oh no my lord! What shall we do? (Seeing the enemy had surrounded the city) 'Don't be afraid, the prophet answered. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.' And Elisha prayed, 'Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.' Then the Lord opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha." II Kings 6:15-17
In an age of closed minds and blind eyes, the Church needs to be reminded that "those who are with us, are more than those who are with them"! Though it may seem that a great host of opposition surrounds us, God has His "chariots of fire" encamped around them. No weapon can succeed against those who are in Christ.
It's time to ask for hearts of faith and eyes opened to our spiritual reality. Cease giving way to crisis and allow the Holy Spirit to convince you that we are surrounded, even in life's most challenging situations.
In the words of a worship chorus...
"Open my eyes Lord, I want to see Jesus, to reach out and touch Him, and say that I love Him..."
May we lift our eyes and truly see His surrounding strength!
