Remember Who You Are
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." I Peter 2:9

We can be victims of spiritual amnesia.   We can lose sight of who we are.   Circumstances and crisis can crowd out our perspective.

The importance of identity awareness is critical.  If we forget who we are, we cannot accomplish God's purposes for our lives.   This is why the enemy hounds us about our failures, huants us about our past, and hinders our growth by getting our eyes off Jesus.

Just remind yourself: As a follower of Jesus Christ, I am:
-A chosen person who is part of God's own family.
-A priest unto God, offering Him praise, prayer and purposeful devotion.
-A sanctified saint, holy through His mercy and grace and supplied daily to make godly choices.
-A unique special possession in my Father's eyes.

I  was made to bring Him praise and live a life that declares that I have been "called out of darkness" and now live in His "wonderful light!

Perfect? Not in myself, but in Him I am a new creation no longer defined by my past!

Stay awake in Jesus!
