Shine
"Do everything without grumbling or complaining,  so that you may become blameless and pure,  'children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation'.  Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky. " Philippians 2:14-15

I'm blessed to live in a place where skies are amazing.  The desert, though unappreciated by many, provides a great view of the night skies.  Looking up into the vast expanse,  the stars sparkle.  Tiny dots of light set among the darkness. 

This is the word picture Paul used to declare the impact of holding on firmly to the word of life.   There is much darkness in this world.  It is a great backdrop for contrast.  

As followers of Jesus, we are equipped to shine!  This is the "new normal" for those who love God and love others.  We do not have it all together. But in Jesus, we are walking in the light and His wonders will shine through us. 

So in what appears to be an ever-darkening world, we don't grumble and complain since God is good and taking care of us.  Yes, even when our circumstances and challenges may be difficult.  

Stars don't "work" at shining they just burn brightly.  Rest in Jesus Who is residing inside you, then in word and deed let His light shine!  Let's together light up the darkness!
