Glossophobia
"My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power."
I Corinthians 2:4-5

I've heard it said that the fear of public speaking is the most common of all social fears.  People say they would rather die than speak in public.

Perhaps we put the emphasis on what will people think, or what if I make a mistake?  Sometimes we are afraid our delivery will overshadow the substance of the message.

This is why Paul's words are so essential to us who as followers of Jesus Christ.  He reminds us that it's not our eloquence but our emphasis that matters.   Our focus should be on what we have to share, not on our ability to share it.   It's about the power of the Holy Spirit not our abilities.

And what is that essential message?  Paul says, "For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." (I Corinthians 2:2)

Our message is Who Jesus is and what He has done for us!
Our message is about the truth of Who God is and His amazing works!  Our message is, "I once was lost, but now I'm found,  was blind but now I see"!

Determine to overcome glossophobia (the fear of speaking).  Our voice is needed in this world.  Our story needs to be shared.  Our testimony is a reflection of God's love and power.   Trust God to do incredible things as we open our hearts and speak as He enables us!

No fear, where love reigns,
