Unyielding
"Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it." Song of Solomon 8:7
King Solomon was a prolific writer. We are told that he "spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five." I Kings 4:32. That's a lot of music!
In this song, we are reminded that "love is as strong as death, and its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame." Song of Solomon 8:6.
The love of God is unswerving toward us. His passionate pursuit and purposeful plan to bring us to Himself goes beyond human understanding.
How far did God go to show His love for you? "In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him." I John 4:9 Jesus died and rose again to demonstrate God's love you!
I'm so grateful for the gift of love...
Lynn and I are celebrating our 41st anniversary this week. I know love is unyielding from personal experience. Love endures, grows and enriches.
As Paul wrote, "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." I Corinthians 13:7-8.
There's something we can count on. Rest assured that God's love is unyielding!
