This Same Jesus!
"Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight...Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, Who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven." Acts 1:9-11
[Christmas Sunday - the fourth Sunday of Advent]
We've heard that statement: "The gift that keeps on giving."
But today we can truly celebrate the reality of that statement. Jesus, born in Bethlehem is the Gift Who keeps on giving!
And this "same Jesus" will soon return to take His followers to be with Him. As He said: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:3
Christmas is not merely the commemoration of our Lord's arrival as Mary's son; our Great Shepherd, God's only Son and our Savior...He's the same Jesus Who is coming again!
No matter what you may be facing this Christmas, you can be assured that this "same Jesus" is with you today and will return to take you to Himself at some point in the future. The angelic announcement at His first coming (Luke 2:9-14) is echoed in the angelic proclamation at His ascension (Acts 1:9-11). Jesus is coming again!
Christmas means:
Hope abounds and grace has been multiplied. God's love and provision calls us to relationship through this "same Jesus". Since: "Jesus Christ is same yesterday, today and forever." Hebrews 13:8
Glory to the newborn King Who will reign forevermore! Won't be long till we see His face...
