"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.  They will be like a tree planted by the water..." Jeremiah 17:7-8

Living in the desert southwest has been a joy for us.  Though the summer's intense heat and monsoon storms are certainly be a challenge, the beauty of the desert's vegetation and consistent sunshine far outweigh the negatives.

Knowing very little about the native plants when we first arrived in Arizona, meant times of "butchering" bushes and scrubs.  But to our thankful wonderment, they rebounded.

Even though there are situations and hardships that can leave us feeling over-trimmed and under nourished, when we "trust in the Lord" we will not only endure but flourish!  Like a tree planted by the water, sometimes we just need time for God's promise to be realized.

Remember: Noah waited for the delayed rain; Caleb waited forty years to live in the promised land; Rebekah waited twenty years to conceive a child; Jacob waited seven years to marry Rachel; Simeon waited to see the baby Jesus...

Delays are not denials!  "Trust in the Lord  with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6.

We need not fear when "heat comes" for in Jesus we will never fail to "bear fruit" in due season!  Jeremiah 17:8
