Weighty Worship
"Now when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated." II Chronicles 20:22
God's people were surrounded. Three neighboring nations had amassed their armies and threatened their demise. All appeared hopeless. No military solution or escape could be found...
In times like this, as in all other times, prayer is not only an option, it is the only option! Turning his heart to God, the king prayed. He said, "Nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." (II Chronicles 20:12)
All they had was God, so a prophet directed the king to set out for battle, praising and worshipping the Lord as they went. As worship went forth, the enemies were routed! As they worshipped, God delivered!
Worship is not something to take lightly, it's genuine warfare. It's not how well we sing, it's how wonderful is our God! It's about standing in awe, as our God works His incredible wonders!
