Downpour!
"You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek You; I thirst for You; my whole being longs for You, in a dry and parched land where there is no water."
Psalm 63:1

What difference a downpour makes, especially in the desert!

Recently the Phoenix area was blessed with an abundance of rain.  Not just a fast moving monsoon, but a full day of intense downpours!  Dry river beds were dry no longer.  Streets became streams, and yards looked like lakes. 

The intensity of storms reminds us of how quickly dryness can be replaced with a drenching released from the sky.  David longed for a spiritual downpour.   In the dry time's, how the soul needs a good soaking in the presence of God!

Purposeful, planned and praise- filled worship releases times of refreshing.   Not a quick fix but a focused encounter with the Lord can renew the mind, reset the perspective and refresh the heart!

Lord, send the rain of Your presence and the reign of Your Holy Spirit into our desperate drought-ridden lives just when we need it most! Amen!
